Blessed is the one who finds wisdom

Blessed is the one, who finds wisdom, and the one who gets understanding.
Wisdom is better than silver, gold and more precious than jewels. Nothing you desire can compare with it. ~King Solomon

According to the bible, King Solomon was a king whose wisdom surpassed the wisdom of men in all nations. None before or after exceeded him. The whole earth included all kings sought the presence of Solomon to hear his wisdom. Furthermore, the queen of the South came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon.

Many people will be interested to know the secret of how Solomon obtained his wisdom. At his young age, Solomon was made as King in place of his father. He desired wisdom more than riches or honors. Therefore, he prayed humbly to God to give him understanding mind to govern God’s people. In fact, God gave him wisdom and understanding beyond measure (I Kings 4:29). The whole earth sought the presence of Solomon to hear his wisdom, which God had put into his mind.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight. According to Solomon’s proverb, if you seek and search God’s word like silver and hidden treasure, you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. With the fear of the Lord, you will obey and do his words, turn away from evil and walk in righteousness. For that will be your wisdom. (Proverb 2)

How to obtain wisdom?
1.DESIRE God’s word/wisdom
2.ASK. Wisdom is from the Lord. Ask God for wisdom. (I Kings 4:29/ Proverbs 2:6/ Daniel 2:21)
3.Fear of the Lord (Psalms 111:10/Proverb 2)
4.Obey and do his commandment

On the other hands, it is crucial to use the wisdom correctly. In Old Testament, God gave Daniel’s wisdom in all things so that people can see God is with Daniel. The King believes Daniel’s God is the true God. God gave Solomon’s wisdom to rule over his people and to do justice.

Deuteronomy 4:6 Keep them and do them, for that will be your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples, who, when they hear all these statutes, will say, ‘Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people. 7For what great nation is there that has a god so near to it as the Lord our God is to us, whenever we call upon him

I Kings 3:28 And all Israel heard of the judgment that the king had rendered, and they stood in awe of the king, because they perceived that the wisdom of God was in him to do justice.

The purpose of wisdom
1.Let God known by all nations and not for self achievement
2.To lead His kingdom
3.To do justice

What is wisdom? Proverb describe a wise person as the person with insights, turn away from evil, uprightness, speaks justice, humble (not pride), and living a meaning life.

o Job 12:12 Wisdom is with the aged, and understanding in length of days/number our day.
o Proverbs 4:5 Get wisdom; get insight; do not forget, and do not turn away from the words of my mouth.
o Proverbs 4:11 Discern between good and evil. Turn away from evil
o Proverbs 11:2 When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with the humble is wisdom.

Ecclesiastes 1:18:
18For in much wisdom is much vexation, and he who increases knowledge increases sorrow.

Ecclesiastes 5:7多梦和多话,都是虚空的,你只要敬畏 神。

If we acquire wisdom without the fear in the Lord, actually we are fools. Then, wisdom is vexation and vanity. Proverb says ‘For when dreams increase and words grow many, there is vanity; but God is the one you must fear.’

Prince of Tyre used his wisdom to make wealth. He did not fear God. None the less, he was arrogant and made himself God. At a result, God allowed the foreigners to cast him out and defile his splendor.

Daniel was a wise man.
He acknowledged the wisdom is from God and not from him. It is God who made known to him the king’s matter. (Daniel 2:23)

Jesus is wisest and greater than Solomon.
Matthew 12:42 “The queen of the South will rise up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and behold, something greater than Solomon is here."
